- The proposed alterations and additions incorporate an interpretative design response through the use of antique, recycled materials in addition to muted tones that ensure the additions integrate with, but do not detract from, the original architectural form of the dwelling or the adjoining laneway
- The roof form is a contemporary interpretation of a pitched roof. The use of ruled joints within the render maintain a utilitarian, raw appearance that is consistent with both the existing dwelling and the laneway character, and allows the first floor to integrate with the laneway seamlessly.

- Soft tones and textures create an environment to compliment and respect and not compete.
- Recycled metal windows perforate the solidity of one boundary wall, whilst an internal lightcourt softens the alignment of the opposite party wall.
- The luxury of the level one quarters allows for an open sanctuary within a dense inner urban environment.
